If you see the dreaded “Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131904” in SharePoint or keep having your SharePoint Error out you will likely try to restart the SharePoint Services and find that it works for a few minutes, BUT the solution is to deal with your SQL install. In my case, I have see this 3 times in 2 years and in each case I simple restarted my SQL (SHAREPOINT) service and bingo bongo I am back baby!
